1. Genres & Formats Accepted
I have a broad reading appetite and am open to reviewing nearly all fiction genres and select non-fiction.
- Major Categories: Fantasy, Science Fiction, Romance, Mystery, Thriller, Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction, Horror, and YA/New Adult.
- Exceptions: Please note that I do not accept Amish fiction or heavily religious/inspirational faith-based titles.
Accepted Formats:
- Digital Advanced Review Copies (ARCs) via NetGalley, Edelweiss, or direct file (EPUB/PDF).
- Physical books (paperback or hardcover) provided upon request or prior arrangement.
2. Review Philosophy & Timeline
- Honest & Constructive: All reviews posted on Charles Reads reflect my honest, personal reading experience. Positive or critical, reviews are written respectfully and constructively.
- Timeline: If a review request is accepted, I typically aim to read and review the title within 6 to 12 weeks, though turnaround times can vary based on seasonal reading schedules and publication dates.
- Cross-Posting: Completed reviews will be published directly on Charles Reads, as well as cross-posted to platforms such as StoryGraph and Goodreads.
3. Important Disclaimers
- Acceptance is Not Guaranteed: Due to time constraints and reading capacity, I am unable to accept all review requests submitted.
- No Financial Compensation: Reviews cannot be purchased, and receiving a complimentary review copy does not guarantee a glowing or positive rating.
